The department has been making significant contributions to basic, strategic and applied research in genetics and plant breeding of various crops as well as model genetic organism, have immensely contributed to the development of the department of Genetics at rb college for excellence in teaching and research related to genetics and plant breeding. its endeavour to develop highly trained human resources, the department has been continuously upgrading its graduate education and research programmes.
Departments has Developing and strengthening collaborative linkages with iari and icar in mutual breeding in field crops.
